Welcome to the website of Robert Harris organ building.
Please take time to look and see what we do in the mechanical organ world. Rob Harris has been active in the organ building business for almost 25 years, building his first organ at school as part of a GCSE wood and metalwork practical project. His early interest in fairground organs was inspired by his grandfather, Arthur Mantle who owned a small Bursens organ which he travelled in the 1970s.
On leaving school in 1989, Rob embarked on a 5-year apprenticeship in precision mechanical engineering which has proved invaluable, especially when it comes to making key frame parts, bellows cranks or machining numerous pulley-wheels for organs. His engineering discipline helps hugely when it comes to making pipes and pneumatic actions.
